Kristina Boe was part of the top level female individuals these days at the FEI European Championships. She just impressed everyone with her technical test and her stunning freestyles in Ebreichsdorf and won the gold medal for Germany! We are proud to share with you the insights of her vaulting lifestyle and trainings. Train like the European Champion!

1. How are you doing at the moment with your trainings?
At the moment I’m putting a lot of effort into detail work. We did small freestyle changes, which made it more harmonious in my opinion. The flow is great now, which also makes the choreography and expression much easier for me. My horse is in top form, so we’re looking forward to next week.
VW – The interview was made before the European Championships.
2. What are your goals for this season?
I just want to know that I did my very best and showed the best I can in competition. If then somebody else is better, that’s totally okay with me. I like tough competition, it pushes me a lot. But of course I would rather win ?
VW – And she did win this weekend.
3. What is ALWAYS in your training bag?
My JBL Flip 3, no training without music!
4. Are you a vaulting fashionista? How is your weirdest training pants?
I’m feeling guilty for that, but I probably have more sports-clothes than normal clothes. And I have a fable for Adidas.
My weirdest training pants are some I got for my birthday from my coaches, they are fully printed with funny pictures of Don and me – I love them!
5. Who makes your competition catsuits?
Brigitte Platzer. She’s a dressmaker from Hamburg and she made all my catsuits from 2009 to today. She’s unbelievably great and I couldn’t do it without her. Over the years we learned to work perfectly together and if necessary she makes a catsuit in one day.
6. What model of shoes do you prefer and why?
Bleyer developed a special model for me with shoelaces. I like them the most because you have them close to your foot without being too tight by adjusting them exactly the right way. You have an amazing feeling of the horse, they don’t slide off and I think they look pretty cool.
7. Some vaulters use different surcingles for compulsories and freestyle, do you? If yes, why?
No I don’t. I like my surcingle for everything and I would find it way too complicated to change it during trainings.
8. Do you have sponsors? What is your relationship with them?
I don’t have financial contracts, but sponsors for equipment. There’s Meinecke for the surcingle, Bleyer for shoes, Effol for grooming equipment. Böckmann for a horse trailer and Krüger Aviation for a car is not exactly my own sponsor, but for the “Brüsewitz Brüder“, but I have the benefit, so I think it’s still worth telling.
Bleyer and Effol are official sponsors for the German team, so I don’t have a personal contract. With Meinecke it’s always easy and uncomplicated, I can only complain that they didn’t send me their logo yet to advertise them 🙂
9. Can you list the main products you compete with?

– Pad: Felt Pro Pad!! Best Pad ever.
– Shoes: Bleyer shoes, own model
10. If you had to invent a new product for the vaulting community, what would you create?
As you see I already have my own surcingle and shoes, for now that’s enough. I’m working on a good first aid equipment/plan, because I believe that it’s often missing in our sport. After an injury the treatment in the first minutes and hours makes a big difference. And I recognized that often even the basic knowledge and equipment is missing. Maybe I can improve that.

11. Any surprise/announcement for us?
I already know my next year’s music, so that will be a surprise. But you will still need to wait for it till next year. I can only tell that it will be completely different…
