The historical CHIO Aachen is as impressive as you can imagine it: this is definitely one of the most spectacular competition of our discipline. We had the pleasure to be part of this magical event and we are more than flashed. We got to know so many like-minded people who love our discipline as much as we do. A weekend full of passion and joy!

The competition itself was really intense: on Friday evening, Jannis Drewell, Janika Derks and Team Norka (GER) were leading in their respective categories. Nevertheless, we saw some beautiful performances from their challengers: Kristina Boe took over the female ranking, winning both technical test and freestyle with the first place and a total score of 8.186.

Sarah Kay did pretty well too with her “13 reasons why” freestyle, ending up with a total score of 7.927 and the second place.

In the male ranking, we saw the best freestyles by Thomas Brüsewitz with a crazy forward flick flack, followed very closely by Jannik Heiland with his elegant pianist theme, which took them to the top of the final ranking.

Regarding the squads, Norka lost their first place as their horse stopped suddenly during the performance. The team Fredenbeck took the advantage and finished with a score of 7,858.

No surprise for Pas-de-Deux, Torben Jacobs and Theresa-Sophie Bresch win a gold medal with a total score of 8.848, challenged by the catchy and swinging Italians, Lorenzo Lupacchini and Silvia Stopazzini (8.720).

As you can see, Germany won everything here, we could also hear the pride of the crowd cheering at their nation! Today the German National coach has announced who will be representing the country in Tryon 2018 apart from Team Norka, which has already been set: Johannes Kay & Janika Derks as well as Theresa-Sophie Bresch & Torben Jacobs as PDD, Janika Derks, Sarah Kay and Kristina Boe as individuals.

And again we had time to chat with international athletes eager to make our sport more popular by representing their nations in such a creative and lovely way. Thanks for sharing your time with us, it was nice to see you again!
