Acroyoga is a discipline, which combines yoga with acrobatic exercises and is lately gaining more and more fans worldwide. But, did you know that it has more in common with vaulting than you have probably expected?
First, you usually do it in a team of two or more people.
Second, there are three primary roles: the base, the flyer and the spotter. The base is the person who has the most contact with the ground, the flyer is the one who is elevated off the ground and the spotter is an additional person who has a view on the two persons to support them and give recommendations.
And third, it requires and you work on very similar capabilities as for vaulting. With Acroyoga you can improve your strength, flexibility, balance and build trust with your teammates. Since you have similar roles as in equestrian vaulting, you can perfectly use this discipline for your warm-up or for playing around every now and then.
