We already put this topic on the table a few months ago, when we learned that vaulting would be presented by the FEI and Team Noroc to the International Olympic Committee to be selected among the disciplines of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2022. Unfortunately, we missed that opportunity for this next edition in Dakar, Senegal.
Is there any chance that we get into the Youth Olympic Games one day?
It might be possible, according to the FEI:
“The International Olympic Committee (IOC) informed us of its decision not to include vaulting for the YOG 2022. At the same time, they offered us to apply for the next edition and this gives us time to refine the proposed format and test it. We will seize this opportunity to strengthen the development of the discipline on several continents, continue its promotion at the international level and look forward to the years to come to carry out this beautiful project.”

This is a common dream that might become a reality one day. In the meantime, we can only work on developing the sport in all kind of ways to get ready for the D-day! So, if you have an idea, don’t hesitate to share it with us!
You can watch an extract of Team Noroc‘s show during the Longines Masters of Lausanne in June 2019 on their official Facebook page.
