Last Sunday we had the chance to visit the BLEYER Volti-Magic Show at Equitana 2019 in Essen (Germany). We had a great time and would like to tell you more about this stunning event and share some impressions in this article!
Equitana is an equestrian sports fair, which takes place every two years in Essen. Visitors can expect top-class shows, live trainings with famous equestrians like Monty Roberts and Ludger Beerbaum, competitions and 750 exhibitors selling their products for equestrians. Over nine days there have been demonstrations with over 1000 horses in 7 riding halls! We were definitely impressed by size of the whole exhibition area!
Our journey started with a 3 hour car ride to Essen before we had breakfast at the show ground. After checking the exhibition halls we enjoyed the Junior Trophy Vaulting (a regional competition on the MOVIE), we had the chance to look behind the scenes and we met some of our followers. One of them was Laura from Luxembourg, we are always happy to meet you in person ?
Two years ago BLEYER Volti-Magic has been part of the program for the first time and was a huge success: 2 hours of top-class vaulting!
This year’s show started with a performance of Team Norka, followed by demonstrations of Janika Derks and Daniela Slomka from Team Neuss and Jannis Drewell.
After that the Show Cup started with regional vaulting teams like Team Equus and PTV Rheinbach. They performed different freestyles with many experienced but also little vaulters to themes like Disney’s Frozen.
Since the audience consisted of vaulters and non-vaulters, Kristina Boe gave a little training session for vaulters of Team Norka and Team Neuss in order to explain the compulsory exercises and their criteria as well as the difficulties of different freestyle exercises.
More highlights were the freestyle of Torben Jacobs an Theresa-Sophie Bresch and a show of the French guests Team Noroc!
The BLEYER Volti-Magic Show was an interesting mixture of a top-class show from individuals, Pas-de-Deux and teams, and an educational event. It was great to see that vaulting has been included in one of the top equestrian fairs worldwide and we definitely recommend you to visit Equitana 2021 if you have the chance to!
