The first edition of the FEI Top Indoors Vaulting Masters took place in Leipzig, Germany, this weekend. We visited the event for the final on Saturday. Here are the results and some impressions!

The competition was held together with the FEI Jumping World Cup, the FEI Driving World Cup and many other competitions in various disciplines.
It is always nice to meet so many equestrian athletes and friends in one place and to combine sport with show, educational activities and shopping.
The arena in Leipzig is located in the middle of a hall with exhibition stands, which of course makes the volume level enormous. The warm-up circles are also located in the exhibition halls.
Unfortunately, many horses were so impressed by the large hall in the first round on Friday that the vaulters had difficulty showing their program. On Saturday, all horses were much more relaxed.
After we had visited the booths and conducted a few interviews, the competition started at around 7 p.m. with the women’s freestyles!
With the exception of a few new elements, all vaulters have shown their freestyle from the 2019 season.
A special highlight was seeing Anna Cavallaro (ITA) in the circle again after her injury at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon 2018. She was able to clearly win the first round and secure overall victory in the final with a score of 8.254.
Hanna Steverding (GER), who started for the first time in Leipzig, took second place with a score of 8.128, followed by Marina Mohar (SUI) with a score of 7.872.
Jannik Heiland (GER), who has already started several times in Leipzig, won the men’s competition. With a score of 8.326, he was clearly ahead of Julian Wilfing (GER), who achieved an overall score of 8.144. Viktor Brüsewitz (GER) ended the competition in 3rd place with a score of 7.596.
Unfortunately, Gregor Klehe, who started as the fourth man, left the horse in both rounds and ended the competition with a score of 5.387.
In general, it was a fairly relaxed competition, as all participants only had to perform one test per day and did not have to prepare any further starts with the team or Pas-de-Deux partners.

Die erste Version der FEI Top Indoors Vaulting Masters fand an diesem Wochenende im Rahmen der Partner Pferd in Leipzig statt. Wir haben die Veranstaltung für das Finale am Samstag besucht. Hier sind die Ergebnisse und einige Impressionen!
Der Wettkampf wurde zusammen mit dem FEI Jumping World Cup, dem FEI Driving World Cup und vielen weiteren Prüfungen verschiedenster Disziplinen ausgetragen.
Es ist immer schön, so viele Pferdesportler und -freunde an einem Ort zu treffen und den Sport mit Show, lehrreichen Aktivitäten und Shopping zu verbinden.
Die Arena befindet sich in Leipzig inmitten einer Halle mit Messeständen, wodurch der Lautstärkepegel natürlich enorm ist. Auch die Zirkel zum Aufwärmen befinden sich in den Messehallen.
Leider waren viele Pferde von der großen Halle im ersten Umlauf am Freitag so beeindruckt, dass die Voltigierer Schwierigkeiten hatten, ihr Programm zu zeigen. Am Samstag waren alle Pferde dann schon wesentlich entspannter.
Nachdem wir die Messestände durchstöbert hatten und ein paar Interviews geführt hatten, ging es um kurz vor 19 Uhr dann los mit den Küren der Damen!
Bis auf wenige neue Elemente haben alle Voltigierer ihre Kür aus der Saison 2019 gezeigt.
Ein besonderes Highlight war es, Anna Cavallaro (ITA) nach ihrer Verletzung bei den Weltreiterspielen in Tryon 2018 wieder im Zirkel zu sehen. Sie konnte den ersten Umlauf klar für sich entscheiden und sich im Finale mit einer Wertnote von 8,254 den Gesamtsieg sichern.
Hanna Steverding (GER), die zum ersten Mal in Leipzig an den Start ging, belegte mit einer Wertnote von 8,128 Platz 2, gefolgt von Marina Mohar (SUI) mit einer Wertnote von 7,872.
Bei den Herren siegte Jannik Heiland (GER) souverän, der schon mehrfach in Leipzig gestartet ist. Mit einer Wertnote von 8,326 lag er klar vor Julian Wilfing (GER), der sich eine Gesamtnote von 8,144 erturnte. Auf Platz 3 beendete Viktor Brüsewitz (GER) den Wettkampf mit einer Wertnote von 7,596.
Leider verließ Gregor Klehe, der als vierter Herr an den Start ging, in beiden Runden das Pferd und schloss den Wettkampf somit mit einer Wertnote 5,387 ab.
Im Allgemeinen war es ein recht entspannter Wettkampf, da alle Teilnehmer nur eine Prüfung pro Tag zu absolvieren hatten und keine weiteren Starts mit dem Team oder Doppelpartnern vorbereiten mussten.
